Thoughts: This album is really awesome, not just because it was released on my birthday in 1963, but because of what is on it. The songs are really strong, especially the originals, save for "Hold Me Tight", one of Paul's worst songs (sorry Paul!). I think "Devil In Her Heart" is another weak spot, but that's a cover. I think if they could have taken a second look it probably would have gotten the axe. John's writing particularly shines here, on tracks like "All I've Got To Do", "Not A Second Time" and "It Won't Be Long". George's songwriting debut comes in the guise of "Don't Bother Me", a great little tune that foreshadows what's to come.
