Thoughts: Like all of CCR's albums, their debut is very loose. The covers, and even the originals, feel like excerpts from long jam sessions and in the case of "Suzie Q", we are given a full jam session. The album has a striking opening, "I Put A Spell On You", and a great song that ends it. "Walking On The Water", the only song by Tom to get on a CCR album, is amazing. Most of the stuff in between is rather slight, though and the only original by John that I particularly care for is the wonderful "Porterville".
Rating: 6/10
